Scientific names that I've been able to find- Natrix vittata or Xenochrophis vittatus. I had one of these about 15 years ago. Sweet little snake that ate rosey reds and other small fish. There's been some research done on feeder fish since then that advises not to feed types high in Thiminase (SP?) exclusively. Check the garter or water snake forum for the details on types of fish that won't cause a B vitamin deficiency. Mine never attempted to bite or musk. I kept it in an aquarium with a large, shallow water dish for presenting its meals. Temps were 80 under the lamp and 70-75 in the rest of the tank. I did a few searches on google recently and got plenty of hits, mainly under the old Natrix vittata name
.
Nice pics BTW-made identification a snap!
