It isn't really a matter of length, it is a matter of mass. An adult female would weigh easily twice as much as an adult male. She should also be much longer.
Just for comparison, my adult female (who I don't consider to be huge) weighs 332 grams. My male weighs 78 grams.
It almost sounds like you have two of the same sex. The shape of the tail (particularly from the underside) is VERY different in male and female hogs.
If they are a true pair, I am not sure that a 20 inch female is big enough (but again, it is the weight that is important, not the length). ----- Chris Harrison
