I raise both kingworms and regular mealworms by the thousands, and neither beetles nore worms can jump. Kingworm worms can wiggle quickly and get a little altitude doint this, maybe 1/2 inch max.
Beetles can fly, but they can't gain elevation quickly, so a fairly short container with even low sides will keep them in. Put them on a level surface with no sides, and they can then fly around the room, but I don't know why you would do that!
