If you witness ovulation, only then do you KNOW she is gravid (barring ultrasound or xray). Likelihood is high that ova are simply enlarging -- therefore, it is normal for some swelling to occur before ovulation, or before she is gravid. Unfortunately, ova may be resorbed before ovulation occurs. Best to keep male in regular contact with female to ensure that ova develop to full term and ovulation occurs successfully. ...Continue breeding trials to ensure full ova development and high fertility.
