Yeah, those would be the ones.
I read a site the other night that was an introduction to keeping hots, thought it was actually trying to talk people out of it. It was saying that the only way to keep hots is in the Neodesha cages because of the one piece sliding glass and the ability to still somewhat look down into the cage. Vison was the next choice but not highly recommended because of the squareness and the two piece glass was still an escape risk. I found the link to it somewhere in the Viperidae forum and can't remember what it was. But the lady that wrote it was very straight forward and highly responsible for her hots. She said that she used the Neodesha cages exclusively.
It was really a fascinating read and pretty much told me that I'd be the completely wrong type of person to own a hot snake. I'd own, say, a cobra just because of how "cool" it'd be to have a cobra. I didn't really need to site to tell me that's totally irresponsible, but I never planned on owning a hot anyway. I'm still trying to figure out why exactly people do own them, other than conservation, medical and/or educational purposes. That's a cool story about your friend, and is exactly why I'll never own hots too.
