While I feed my snake in a separate enclosure so he doesn't associate my hand with feeding, I am curious about one thing. Hasn't anyone ever had problems with their snake ingesting substrate particles with their food? I know when my snake eats, the mouse can get wet or sticky or both, and it makes it very easy for the substrate to cling to the mouse while it's being eaten. But again, I constantly see pictures of snakes eating in an area covered in wood chips and other stuff... Does it not hurt the snake to ingest that stuff? I'm not going to change the way I feed my snake, but I was just curious as to why someone would feed their snake in such a manner that it could hurt the snake? Am I misinformed about this? |
