i use sand on one half and turf on the other.turf is good to keep the moisture high, because it absorbs water.

u can take a look at my photo i added in "Ball will not eat any suggestions for a long time corn owner? n/p" conversation!

to keep high moisture you can just spray water on the substrate which helps too!

i do this every day!
