Hello friends: When taking a Cham in to do a fecal, what does a good vet do? Reason why I ask is this: I had a Dart suddenly take a turn for the worse, I decided I must have a fecal done to rule out parasites. I took the frog in to the nearest "exotic" vet, in my inexperience. Turned out that his experience was lizard based ONLY and really did not know how to handle my frog. I was lucky to have the frog poop there otherwise, he'd charge me for a visit and NO fecal. Well, he looked at the fecal and could not give me any definitive answeres on what it is that he was looking at. Just guessing, he gave my frog a forced feeding of liquid supplement which stressed it into not eating for the next week. When i consulted the leading Vet DR. Frye in Milan, MI. He had me send to him all the fecal I could find in the tank, he then emailed me photos of all parasites he found, described them in detail as to their numbers, type, degree of harm, and consulted and provided medication to administer.



Before I make a mistake handing my innocent beloved Cham to another Vet that might hurt instead of harm, would I be able to ask you for a description of what a good vet should do for a Cham at the rountine twice a year fecal, possible deworming checks? Would they provide me photos, or show me what they see, and be able to tell me what it is the right meds for it? I'd like to be armed with the info before I go in so I can recognize it if someone is mishandling my Cham and not providing adequate Vet care.
