I just picked up some superworms for Morgana, in hopes that she will eat them. She has been on a steady diet of nightcrawlers for the past 2-3weeks. She will take about 1-3 a day.
If someone else will butt in here on the exact nutrients in Nightcrawlers that would be great.
I know a majority of the nutrients in nightcrawlers is calcium and water, but I don't know if she is getting the proper amount of protein and other essential nutrients. This is partially why I am trying to feed her superworms. I can gut load them fairly easily (because they are pigs) so I feed them the Flukers Cricket Feed, which has a good amount of protein in it.
The only problem is, she doesn't seem interested in them. I have even tried setting her next to the feeder bowl when it is her dinner time, and she would watch them, but not actually go for them (and this batch I got are really active). Is there any tips you guys would have to encourage her to eat these superworms? (they are also cheaper and live longer than nightcrawlers). I don't necesarilly want to take her off of nightcrawlers completely, but maybe limit her to about 8-12 a week.
Tips, suggestions, stories?
Thanks!
