After you see the price, you'll know why plastic racks are so expensive. Fortunately I get it cheaper than the $147/sheet listed at U.S. Plastics but to buy a 4x8 sheet and have it pre-cut on a laser-guided saw, it's still right around $100 for me.
Anyway, just an FYI, although you could just screw this material together, I'd not recommend it. If you notice the manufacturers that use EPVC (including myself), the advantage to this plastic is that it can be welded together. Every manufacturer that sells pre-built racks (okay, let's just say I can't think of any that don't), will either thermally or chemically weld the plastic together.
THAT is more of an investment than the plastic itself. Plastic welders start at $200 for a hot-air welder and go up to $800 for a good one. Obviously a pretty penny just to make a few racks.
Best of luck,
