I'm probably bad, but I don't even measure the humidity. Corns don't need as much humidity as other snakes, but being dry isn't good either. I just go by how well they shed, and they all seem to do it with no problems. I know my house is very dry, but the cages aren't as bad. I have HUGE water dishes, and that raises the humidity nicely. Also, putting the water dish over the heated side, will make the water evaporate faster, which will add to the humidity. But with the dish on the hot side, you have to check/refill it about twice as often.



I wouldn't reccomend actually getting the substrate wet, it will raise the humidity temprorarily, but it can also cause molds to grow. FAST! Just last week one of my girls dragged a paper towel into her water and it soaked up the water and spread it around to the whole box. When I went to clean it all out the next day, there was mold already growing! And this is a plastic box with paper towel substrate! The mold grew just over night that fast.



Someone else will have actual humidity %'s and stuff i'm sure, (someone who works harder than I do) But really, unless your snake is having shed problems, I guess I wouldn't worry about humidity too much.
