 I have a pet store Ruby too She was my first snake, and I did the same thing, she was at PetLand, and I really didn't want to buy a snake from a pet store, but like you, it was love at first sight.
Your story is why I will stay away from pet store snakes now unless I can get the breeders info along with it. That and all the mis-labeling going on. You're right, no-one should have to look at an empty tank, it's just sad Did they say they would replace her? If they do, I would ask them if you can have them pay for a "first vet visit" right away. Just to be sure you don't have to go through it all again. And if they don't replace her, get your next one through one of the big breeders like Kathy or Don.
