Switch to a different brand! I've found that Band-It edge-banding seems to work very well. Unfortunately, I usually end up with Edgemate (I think), which doesn't stick nearly as well. Sadly, I can't seem to find the Band-It stuff in large rolls. It seems to be sold in 50' display packs only...
