I had to make some modifications, though, to keep them escape proof.

Above the latch you can see there is an indentation in the lid that allows a hatchling to slip right between the box and the latch and escape.
So, I added a strip of silicon inside the lid. This seals the gap and still allows for proper operation of the latch.
