Chris did a good followup to you.
I personally choose the EPVC for my racks, BUT if you are a beginner, I'd highly suggest the HDPE. It's a lot easier to work with than EPVC. As Chris said, you DO have to watch it. The stuff we originally got was warped, bowed, bowled, etc. It was nasty and it was virgin material. If would have ever run across the HDPE that AP is using, I may still be building with it (although another goal of mine was to find something ligher). Theirs is straight and it has a nice 'brushed' look to it. If you can find something like that, you'll be in a gold mine.
As far as routing dado channels for racks, unless you are experienced with this stuff, that's a big task. I'm an ex-woodworker and using a router to dado a channel is still tough work for me (Amen for actual dado blades that go on a saw).
Best of luck to you,

----Original question-----
I was going to build a cage out of wood but have read some threads about using these plastics for material. I have looked at US Plastic Corp. online and to have the stuff shipped will be outragous but Lowes says they can order just about anything I want. Soooooo..... Now I need to decide which type of plastic I would like to use. Any advice would be GREAT!! Also, would I need to buy a plastic welder or is there another way to bond the plastic together? Thanks in advance.
