I like to build separate adult and juvenile racks, especially for colubrids that need to be brumated/hibernated. That way their rack can be moved into the cool area and the hatchlings can remain warm through the winter if necessary.



Also, I find it easier to work with the hatchlings when they are up higher. So my hatchling racks sit on top of my adult racks.
