He does NOT need a playmate. Bearded dragons are perfectly happy and far better off housed by themselves. They don't get lonely or need other lizards to play with.

You also run the risk of them transferring parasites or diseases to each other, and worse, not being compatible they may fight and you'd end up with one or two dead lizards.

Besides that, but a different kind of lizard will have different husbandry needs. Temperature, humidity.... these needs vary from species to species, and you can't settle on a middle ground.


Bad idea all around. Don't do it.
