That's a tough one. It seems like a lot of the less expensive acrylic cages have developed a reputation for warping when exposed to the temperature differentials required by many reptiles.



Just yesterday I was at a public aquarium that had several very nice acrylic displays sitting throughout the building. They all contained frogs and did not have any heat sources to create a heat differential. Even these cages had noticable warping even though they were made from thick material. It was most noticable on the doors.



I'm not sure how much better the expensive ones are. I do know Paul August's cages have an excellent reputation and I like the design he has with a rubbermaid tray in the bottom. The size of that cage is limited to the size of the rubbermaid, however, and that may not work for you. I'm sure he still makes larger sizes.



I did not realize there were any $800 acrylic cages but I have to admit I don't pay much attention to that market anymore.



Sorry I could not help more. Acrylic cages do have a really neat look to them and I can see why they are so desirable for certain species.
