I would not worry about hides unless these are recently acquired snakes who may need the extra comfort of a hide. Personally I don't use any hides for healthy eating snakes, and I find that the racks are dark enough in the back to be good hides. I also do not use a bowl big enough to soak in. This will cause many problems in a rack system due to high humidity. I use ceramic dishes with plastic inserts that are about 6 inches in diameter. I tried larger, but really did not like the results. I have not had a bad shed in these conditions, because even this small water bowl will provide the proper humidity in a rack system with a closed top. Now Freedom Breeders might be a differant story.
