I've been fighting an outbreak of flagylites for about 3 months now and close to $400 (which includes an HMO $$ that I didn't even find out about until about half way into this ordeal)
Anyway, it's not responding to treatments,,, I've tried every dosage / time span etc. of Flagyl
It's come down to
A. It's not flagylites at all & I'm treating for the wrong thing.
B. It's a highly resistant strain
C. The meds I'm getting are crap.
I've done everything by the book.
Paper towels, Bleach, Nolvasan, Odorsban, Novlsan baths/sprayings, Totally renewing my bug colonies, I've just removed the pellets to see what happens, Washing veggies with soap & warm water/ then putting them in "ICE" water (to shock anything that may still be on them), Spot cleaning the cages after every single poo, & the list goes on & on.
I just don't know what else to do.
I'm going to the Vets next week, with an animal & fecal & I'm going to handcuff myself to the exam table until they can get this right. lol
I haven't sold a single dragon since this happen.
Oh,, for those who don't know,,, I believe it spread from a quarantine dragon I bought this year. I think it happen when I flew up to MI for a week, this last fall. I cam home & found runny poos in several of the bins & it spread to all of them from there.
I tell you,, if it wasn't for the snakes,, piggy backing the dragons, I would have really been frustrated. lol The snakes have helped fund this little expedition. lol
I forgot to mention,, they all look healthy as horses even though they have been through all this???
So Karen,, how are you? ----- Joel R
