I never considered there might be any health consequences from a wireless thermometer! And won't be losing any sleep over the prospect. I reckon you could make little aluminum foil helmets for your snakes, however attaching them could prove difficult. Little rubber band chin/rostral straps?
I use an Oregon Scientific model #THGR268 and three remote units around my place. Occasionally I put one in a snake cage temporarily if I'm monitoring a new set up, or am checking on the temps for a gravid female. I'm using one in my incubator this season although the 95-plus% humidity probably isn't good for its long-term prospects and is specifically cautioned against in the instructions.
