It has a lot of uses I've found. The one that surprised me most was to coat the styrofoam core of surfboards. Few things take as much of a beating as surfboards. Between the saltwater, sun, and sand, I just can't believe that any product would hold up, especially a solvent free epoxy.
I suspect that's why it's popular, however. Much easier to do touch up work once damage does occur. Regardless, speaks highly of the product.
They must put some sort of UV stabilizer in it, though.
Also, unless you have it lying around, I'd use something else to seal the back of your face frames when you build your storage tote containters. I'd probably use an oil-based paint and then some of the leftover plastic sealed to the bottom of the face frame. The bottom is where the substrate and water will rest and need the most protection. A lot cheaper than epoxy.
