here are my immeadiate thoughts :



1) Does anyone out there have a super way to combat mildew in a slightly high humidity enviroment?

A) first thought De-Humidifier



2) Any way to combat red ants when I can't find the source?

A) a few thoughts here .. Grits can be used for ants with no harm to animals they eat the grits drink/get wet and swell & die lol olllld thing gma taught me lol



also if its a number of ants look around ants are a " memory insect"

once they find where they want to go they will leave a scent for others to follow there path to the picnic so to speak and will use that same path for the most part as each ant leaves a scent trail the others pickup on. This i know because i just saw a show this weekend on ants and they showed how ants find things as they like sweets etc so a ant will search all over until they find something they like and when they find it they bee line it for all to find .lol



3) Can I coat the hide boxes with polycrylic or sealant?

A) depending on what animals are in all of them you could but beaware that the bark could chip off and if a lizard is the animals in the he could digest the coated bark ( i know you said snake but just advice if there is something that picks / eats /tatses things in there cage)



4) Why do we park on driveways and drive on parkways?

A) i actually have parked on the BlueRigde Parkway lol and have driven up on my driveway i gues its a cup 1/2 full or empty thing good luck











Well, since I live in South Miami, we have a HUGE mildew problem here. Today my Coastal Python left me a present, so when cleaning it up, I noticed some mildew on the wood log hide box, so i pulled it out to scrub it down and bake it for a while, then i noticed the usual woodland critters that live in the log but dont cause a problem with my critters... THEN I saw the tiniest of tiny red ants crawling around... Then I looked at my turtle tank stand, and there were the red ants again...



So in my long babbling, I offer to you, a few questions...
