They may go off feed during breeding season, males in particular. Females will also stop feeding if they are gravid and the eggs are due to be laid.
I've personally never had a snake totally go off feed, but last spring I was feeding 2 hoppers per meal to my one male and he decided that he only wanted 1 food item less frequently than I would normally feed him.
Also, if you do end up getting more than 1 snake, make sure you keep them in separate cages. They can be cannibalistic and may also breed too young if they are a pair. There are also other problems that can arise if kept in the same tank. ----- alstiver@hotmail.com
