absolutly get 'the cornsnake manual' by Bill and Kathy Love. Read up on snakes as much as you can. Corns are sometimes refered to as 'rat snakes' or 'red rat snakes,' you can look them up that way as well. Searching under their scientific name (Elaphe guttata guttata) will provide more in-depth detail.
Also, use this site as much as you can. Don't believe everything you hear about caring for reptiles unless you can find two or three sources to back it up, or it comes from one highly reliable source (this is an old rule of journalism). There is a lot of bad information floating around out there, and most of it can be blamed on pet stores. -----
