Inbreeding brings out detrimental recessive defects that are usually very rare due to genetic diversity. It doesn't matter what the species is, be it reptile or mammal...inbreeding brings out problems. Some petstores get their leos from breeders who started with one pair or group of leos that they've continuously bred for dozens of generations withough a single outcrossing...these animals end up less hardy and smaller, and I'm sure there are other problems, I just don't know what they are. | ||
