Need confirmation

I found this little guy today in Miami County, KS. I believe its a river cooter. Can anyone confirm or deny? Sorry, hes still kinda shy right now, and he does have an injured leg. I will post better pics once he starts basking. Also, hes covered in algal growth. A very plant rich lake. Also, collection info: 5:45 pm, 47 degrees F, on a west facing slope of the bank, catching those last minute rays. I was collecting aquatic plants and came upon him.
