Since I have never seen any signs of my dragons nibbling on plants I believe they would be safe.



This reminded me that I had wanted to share something I read recently in Reptiles Magazine. Most months there is an article on vivarium decorations, usually plants and landscaping. These are really great articles for those of us trying to make forest dwellers comfortable. In the January 2004 issue The Living Vivarium is about tree tips for vivarium decor. The Author, Rex Lee Searcey, points out that although dead wood decorations will always have a place in vivarium decor there are drawbacks in the humid vivs since they eventually rot and need to be replaced. He guides the reader through the chosing of sturdy, woody, branching plants and trees that can be used to create a nice hiding place for your reptiles and can also become a host plant for many of the epiphytic plants such as staghorn fern and orchids. By using the principles employed in creating bonsai you can control the shape and size of the tree thus preventing it from outgrowing the confines of your pets vivarium.

Otherwise, just look into some bonsai info, search the net for it. If you need a good list of suitable plants let me know. One of them was the hawaiian schefflera.
