I don't think any of these have reached mythological proportions but here are a few things that make me go "hmmmmm". Take them for what they are worth, very little as unsubstantiated rumors, but still maybe something to keep your eye out for.



A while back a breeder posted pics of his het caramels that all had dark red eyes like thier caramel father. I've heard of a hamster mutation where you can identify a het by shining a light into it's eyes, maybe some het caramels can be identified this way.



A couple years ago someone who reportedly worked for a large breeder posted that het genetic stripes looked different. He indicated that they brighter and had some striping. If there is anything to this at all (it was hotly contested at the time) I would think it would be another sporadic sign of het and not something seen in all hets.



Someone posted that their het ghost sheds clear just like a ghost. While purchasing my first het ghost (which does not shed clear but is exceptionally pretty) the breeder went through several of his het ghost cages and sure enough he had some that shed clear. Perhaps het ghost sporadically imparts some ghost like characteristics.



In 2001 a couple of possible het clowns where born with classic jungle like markings (see VPI breeder bragging post for June 2002). In addition to classic jungle color these animals had some clown like characteristics such as very high on the back pattern and broken eye marks. Could some het clowns show in this way? I haven't heard anything about how those two proved out.



Don't even get me started speculating as to if clown and pied might be alleles or albino and caramel
