Hey Elizabeth,
I certainly hope that Erowen improves. Is she due to clutch again?
My older female Zoe clutched, and I was convinced that I was going to lose her. She laid 11 eggs (entire clutch was infertile), but struggled with dropping 4 more eggs over the course of 3 days after the main clutch. She prolapsed, and was unable to pass the last egg. It was sideways. She tore the hell out of the tissue surrounding her vent. She looked bad. But somehow, between soaks and massages, she pulled it off. She's back to eating on her own, and once again is her old, inactive self. So, despite how delicate these animals often seem, I am also amazed at how tough they can be. Hopefully your girl is a fighter as well, and is just relaxing prior to the start of mating season . Sincerely hope she improves.
Don M.
