LaCrosse County, WI, has drafted a proposed exotic animal ban, that, among other things, bans snakes over 6 ft, sugar gliders, and degus, but permits Bison, emus, and Gila Monsters:

A hearing was held March 9. ~50 people attended and testified against it. It will be redrafted and presented at the April board meeting at the LaCrosse Co. Administrative Building, 400 Fourth Street North,La Crosse, WI. (608) 785-9872 for exact time and date. If you are a LaCrosse Co. resident, please attend and defend your interests.
