LaCrosse County, WI, has drafted a proposed exotic animal ban, that, among other things, bans snakes over 6 ft, sugar gliders, and degus, but permits Bison, emus, and Gila Monsters:

A hearing was held March 9. ~50 people attended and testified against it. It will be redrafted and presented at the April board meeting at the LaCrosse Co.
