Over aggressive female???

My normally calm female was really aggressive when I took her out with my male today. She is nearing 3 years old and is normally really calm. She went toward the male when he was head bobbing and started head bobbing really aggressively. She started whipping her tail at him and tried to bite his tail. What could be wrong with her? Thanks for any info.
