Posted by: Ernie Eison at Wed Jun 11 20:55:13 2003 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by Ernie Eison ] Ok shes about 3 1/2 ft.yes the size is a genetic trait of animals found around the city site as it`s called.Anacondas can also be found in the area as well as rainbow boas.Usaualy the only snake that s killed on sight is bothrops atrox.These guys really do pose a danger.Boas do very well in populated areas and are fairly common.In Suriname they have chicken farms these places attract a lot of rats and boas are often found around them.No I don`t live in Suriname I was there for a few weeks visiting some exporters and then going deep into the jungle with Indian trappers to collect.I caught the snake in the photo by dumb luck I just went for a stroll one evening while staying at a friends place near Paramaribo and simply came across it crossing the road.
