Collared lizard breeders (except for me LOL) buy small wine type refridgerators, and put collareds in for a few months during winter, brumation, to induce breeding in the spring.
This is especially important, for males, to be able to breed. They also say it increases the longivity of their life.
I do brumate mine, at room temp around 70 (my choice) they sleep just as well in my opinion. Because their normal temp are 100- 105 .
I do it my way because some breeders do have collareds die during this process ! Most do NOT, but a couple always do every year.
I'm not willing to lose my pets even for breeding
Alot of species are brumated this way in refridge ! ----- ___
