Here is a pic of my old refrigerator design from last year (I did have some problems by they way but not sure if they where incubator related or not).

It's heated by a foot or so of 11" heat tape sandwiched between two 15" ceramic tiles held off the floor a bit by pieces of wood so air can circulate under. A proportional thermostat controls the heat tape. A computer fan blows air down the PVC in the corner.

Apart from the thermostat, I don't think I had $10 in the whole thing.

I'm sure a room would be better as this drops considerably when you open the door. I'll probably also try maternal incubation again with at least one of my bigger girls just because it’s so much fun.
