That is the exact thought I had on the practice of using on thremo for multiple cages. I mean all heat sources are electric and will vary slightly on the amount of heat that each puts out so with only one heat sensing probe you would get pretty inaccurate readings, especially in the top cage that will get a little bit of heat from the bottom three cages.
