Beginner Questions

I just bought a baby Charcoal Corn Snake and i love it. I want to know if my 20 gallon long tank is too big. Also my snake was just fed and he relieved himself through his mouth is that the way snakes relieve themselves. If anyone can answer these questions please and thankyou very much.
