Its easy. I had a friend make an awesome incubator for me many many years ago but I damaged it in a move. It was built out of melamine, which I would not use today since everyone is claiming that toxic gases are released from the material when exposed to heat. The inside was lined with styrofoam and it was hinged with a top door to open and peak in on. It had a rheostat controlling flexwatt heat tape inside. I used vermiculite at the time AND that setup kept temps PERFECT



there are many plans on the net for homemade incubators. In fact, some designs people came up with claim to be 100% effective. Who knows? but I would not look to re-invent the wheel if you don't need to. I bet you could even get materials pre-cut for you if you decide to use some homemade design. Check/search the caging forum.
