Why not ask why het albino females are 5 TIMES more expensive? Why are het pied females more expensive? Why are POSSIBLE het genetic stripe females more expensive?
Once a female is bred, that's it, she's done for the year. Its called FINITE output. Therefore if you want "x" amount of output, you need "x" amount of females. Males don't have that finite output. Its not really infinite, but they can knock up many many females. Breeding once does not stop them from breeding again. Therefore, you only need ONE male to do the job. Supply and demand. If there's a thousand breeders that want "x" amount of output, then you need 1000 time x amount of females. But you'd only need a 1000 males. Supply and demand. Females are more in demand. If more people want them, then the price has to rise until it meets the demand curve.
