True a regular snake hook may be useless with a big burm but I still like to use a hook just to make the initial contact when taking mine out of the enclosure. I feel that first touch when a snake may be asleep or in a defensive position is when a bit may happen. My guys have never even bitten the hook but no use taking chances, huh.
