If it is an inner ear infection then it won't goaway by it's self. It shouldnt affect him to bad as long as he can still walk eat drink and mate. It may shorten his life span though. I one time got meds from my vet for a pet rat I had but it really didn't seem to do much. He lived for about 2 1/2 - 3 years old.
