that these laws are for job security and another attempt at "Big Brother". I live in Columbus and we all need to band together, get our facts together, and fight this. If not, pretty soon they will want to regulate non-native species. I work with CITES Appendix I. species, and I don't have to go to all this trouble or hassle. It's rather ludicrous to have to PIT tag CB black rat snakes that will never attain threatened or endangered status. The fact that these officers have to inspect animals while thumbing through field guides is very scary. All of these states (IN. is trying to pass some similar regs) don't seem too concerned about the thousands of turtles that are collected and exported for the Asian food market. Yet, a guy who has a pair of melanistic gartersnakes is a criminal if he doesn't comply. Kind of make one wnat to go underground huh?
