Well, on my plastic tubs I'm using...
1) Human heat pads
2) On a wire shelving unit with another cage underneath, the light from the bottom cage heats up the top one too
3) On top of my boa's cage, the radient heat panel heats up the top of the cage, where I have a few shoeboxes
4) On top of my computer, the case above the power supply is just the right temperature...
(I like to use already existing sources for heat, saves money  )
I like human heat pads, though. The ones I have are not too warm that they will burn without regulaton, like the zoo-med heat pads I have. The cobra heat pads (the ones that don't stick to the cage) may work ok also.
