He is about 15" long and seems healthy - he is fairly strong and squirms a lot when I pick him up. I don't feel any lumps or soft spots on him and his color looks good. I put him in a 10 gallon tank with aspen for a substrate. I have a piece of cholla cactus for his hide (I know that's not perfect, but he seems to like it) as well as a yogurt container on the cool side of the tank. I have an undertank heater with a thermostat set to 90 on one side of the hide and 74 on the other. He has a water dish large enough to swim in. I fed him a pinky on the third day after I got him and he ate it right away. I couldn't find any poop by about four days after I fed him, so I guesses I was just missing it and fed him again. 4 days later, still no poop! I took out the aspen and replaced it with paper towels and fed him again. Each time he takes the pinky really fast and eats it right up. This time I found a small poop stain with white urates - but still no poop! By now I am starting to panic - so I gave him a warm bath to try to induce some action down there, but to no avail. When I gave him the bath his eyes were clouded over - so it looks like he is going into shed. What should I do?!? I am really worried. [ Hide Replies ]
