Posted by: kofseattle at Mon Apr 5 08:37:45 2004 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by kofseattle ] Well, i posted about this when it first happened but nobody had any info. Maybe after the fact I can still learn from it? I had Crested eggs (2). One appears infertile but I am letting it go, it's a cresty egg. The other started to hatch on Saturday. It had a little cresty nose sticking out but never completely hatched. I am fairly certain the little fellow has died by now. I can see eyes but it does not appear to be breathing. The question I have now is, what could have happened so late in the hatch process? It appears to be a full term cresty. What could have killed it even after it had already pipped the egg? It was in a hobavator @ 78F and was properly hydrated with a perilite medium. Any of you breeders/hobbyists ever see this and know what caused it? Any help appreciated! [ Hide Replies ]
