I have had pairs of ciliatus eggs where one would hatch and the other never did. After cutting these eggs open I would find a fully formed dead baby. After talking with a few other breeders they suggested cutting the unhatched eggs open if they did not hatch within 3-4 days of the other. I have done this several times now with good success. A few times the geckos seemed to explode out of the egg. Also, I have never seen a retained yolk in doing this. Although I have never had one die after pipping on its own, I would suggest helping them out of the egg after at least 24 hrs. -Derek | ||
