When you're done reading my replies to your questions, check out the newly updated (last night) Crested Gecko page on my website...I'll put the link below. When you go there, make sure you also click the link to Allen Repashy's article.
>>Does anyone know of any breeders that have crested gecko babies for sale now the colors and patterns i am looking for are fire, red, rust, orange, and grey.
Um...I can't advertise here, so check the classifieds.
>>also how long would a baby crested be able to live in a 10 gallon? i plan to use a 10 gallon for the quarentine tank.
At least 6 months...maybe longer.
>>here is the set up i plan to use, please tell me if i should change anything.
>>-10 gallon tank with locking screen top
This works
>>-a 15-25 watt lightbulb in a light fixture on the top to provide a warmer environment ([it wont be hotter than 80 degrees anywhere][my room is 65 degrees])
I would Stick sith a 15 watt bulb.
>>-paper towel substrate
Yep..that or newspaper works great.
>>-a small water dish
I wouldn't bother. Crickets will drown in there and the geckos will defecate in it, so you'll have to clean it almost every day. Just mist the cage daily and be done with it.
>>-egg cartons for hiding and climbing
YepThat's what I do.
>>-pieces of cardboard for hiding and climbing
There's no need...the egg crates work fine.
>>-some sterilized sticks for climbing
Again, there's really no need, but if you want to, you can.
>>should i provide a hidespot on the cage floor?
I lay a piece of egg crate on the floor to serve as a hide box. My Crested Gecko Page...updated last night
