I use the small or mini size mealworms from American Cricket Ranch. And yes I do feel that is reduces the chance of nips when they are left in the dish, I just take and put about 50-60 of them in a small shaker with Miner-All, then put them in the dish and leave them, they will run over and eat them right away, but then stop when they are full, then, if some climb over the dish, they get those because it is stimulating I guess, then they just snack on them all day like a leopard gecko would. I also periodically feed them circkets before mealworms, then three more times throughout the day, then I offer salad either in the morning before mealworms and then late afternoon. They have gotten used to all this and I haven't had any nips EVER so far, I have only had about 5 clutches though, and even in this big clutch of 36, I had no nips so I guess it works.
