Mine did it himself. I had a 2 compartment "Healthy Choice" tv dinner tray I washed and placed in the cage. Usually when he is ready to go or has just gone he wildly scratches the glass. Then he started to be smug and lay on his branch. I looked and there in one of the compartments was his pooh. This has been going on for a couple of weeks. He may try to go in the compartment and some of it is on the ground under the rim. However, he seems happy and it is easy to clean up.
